WHAT IS START SUMMIT ABOUT?
START Summit is the leading student-run organization for entrepreneurship and technology in Europe. Our main event is the START Summit, which gathers more than 2500 players from the entrepreneurial ecosystem on-site in St. Gallen. Because of COVID-19, the Summit will take place in a hybrid format, hence you will also be able to attend the Summit online or offline. In times of great uncertainty, we aim to enable worldwide exchange and collaboration between our participants.
WHERE CAN I REGISTER FOR THE ONLINE PLATFORM?
The online platform is integral to enter the Summit and to experience the conference to its fullest! You will receive a link in an email from with which you can register for the Summit app. All instructions will be included in the email. Don't forget to download the app in advance!
WHICH DIFFERENT FORMATS DOES THE SUMMIT HOST?
- Networking: Get to know the European entrepreneurship and tech ecosystem through our Matchmaking platform, Workshops, or simply by getting to know other attendees by chance. You will hardly find a better opportunity to find your next Investor, Employer or Friend!
- Learning: Europe's best investors, founders and leaders will share their stories, visions and learning in various formats. Panel Discussions, Fireside Chats and our Pitching Competition will be the place where you should whip out your pens. You will learn more than in the last 3 months combined!
- Bonding: The START Summit is the perfect place to accelerate your career while having the time of your life! Get to know St Gallen's nightlife during our Pubcrawl, have the most interesting conversation while having a beer, and join our legendary Afterparty as the final of the best 2 days you experienced in a long time.
DO I NEED A COVID TEST TO ATTEND START SUMMIT?
We strongly recommend being tested prior to attending the conference. You can find different test centers in St Gallen here. Also, we will have a testing center on-site, but we recommend getting tested in other testing stations in St Gallen because of limited capacities at our on-site center.
WHERE WILL START SUMMIT 2022 TAKE PLACE?
The event will take place in St Gallen in the Olma Halls on the 24-25th of March 2022. As the Summit will be a hybrid event, it will also take place online during that period.
CAN I SCHEDULE MEETINGS IN ADVANCE?
Yes, you will be able to schedule meetings in advance. Preparing meetings in advance to the conference is integral to ensure a productive START Summit. You can use the filter to differentiate between nationality, industry and job. So don't forget to schedule meetings in advance!
WHAT IS THE MATCHMAKING TOOL?
The Matchmaking tool enables both online and offline participants, to discover the most fascinating fellow participants and schedule meetings with them. On our platform, you will be able to filter attendees after nationality, industry, or funding stage, thus finding the best fitting "Matches" will be as easy as ever. Meetings can be planned ahead of the Summit via our messaging tool, although having spontaneous meetings during the Summit will also be possible.

WHAT FORMATS WOULD I HAVE ACCESS TO WITH AN ONLINE BASIC TICKET?
The Online Ticket grants participants access to all main-stage content, access to the START Summit platform, including the Matchmaking tool.

DO I NEED TO REGISTER FOR WORKSHOPS?
Yes, due to limited seats in our Workshop sessions, you have to be fast to register before there won't be any seats left. You will be able to register on the Summit App.
ARRIVING AT THE CONFERENCE
WHERE TO STAY DURING START SUMMIT?
We have gathered a list of partner hotels, where attendees can stay during the Summit. If you prefer a more quiet stay, some hotels are located just next to the city and will only take you a max. of 20 minutes to the conference halls with public transportation. We will ensure that the Summit is easily reachable by bus or train from every stay. Here you can find more info about hotels in St. Gallen.
WHERE IS THE CLOSEST AIRPORT?
WHERE TO CLAIM MY BADGE?
You can claim your badge at the townhall in St. Gallen which is located right next to the train station on the 23rd of March 2022 from 3 pm - 6:30 pm. If you are an HSG student, you can also claim your badge at the university in building 09 from 2 pm-6pm. We highly recommend that you claim them the day before in order to avoid extensive queuing!
AT THE EVENT
HOW CAN I GET TO THE VENUE?
WHEN DOES THE EVENT START?
The event starts at 9 am on both days and will last until 7 pm on the 24th and until 10 pm on the 25th after the after-party finishes.
IS THERE AN EVENING PROGRAM?
Yes! One of our coolest side events is our Pub crawl in which you will get to know the St Gallen bar scene. Additionally, we have an amazing afterparty, which will take place on the 25th starting at 6 pm. Check out the after movie of last Summits party.
At Summit 2022 we want to ensure everyone's safety, meaning we strongly recommend that everyone should test themselves before attending the event. Thus, a valid Covid certificate will be necessary! Note that these guidelines can still change depending on the following months.

HOW CAN I GET A TICKET?
DO I HAVE ACCESS TO THE ONLINE PLATFORM WITH MY OFFLINE TICKET?
Yes. All online formats will also be available to you if you have bought an offline ticket.
HOW CAN I PAY FOR MY TICKET?
You can pay with Credit Card and PayPal. Also, if you want to buy your ticket with Crypto, we got you covered!
WHERE CAN I FIND MY TICKETS?
A few weeks before the Summit, you will receive an email entailing a link where you will be able to register for the platform and claim your real ticket. Additionally, you will receive a confirmation email after the checkout process.
WHERE CAN I CHANGE TICKET INFORMATION?
If you need to change anything about your ticket, you can contact email@example.com. Note that the eventual name-holder of a ticket only needs to be declared when registering for the platform. After that, you cannot change the name holder of the ticket.
DO I NEED TO PRINT MY TICKET?
There is no need to print the ticket since you will have the ticket as a QR-Code on your event app.
CAN I TRANSFER MY TICKET TO ANOTHER PERSON?
No, unfortunately, this will not be possible after you gave the ticket a name holder. You will be able to buy tickets for other people, though.
CAN I BUY PASSES ON BEHALF OF MY TEAM MEMBERS/COLLEAGUES?
Yes, you will be able to buy tickets for your team. Make sure that you register the tickets in the name of your team members/colleagues, since there will be no way to change that afterwards.
IS THERE A POSSIBILITY FOR A REFUND IF I AM NOT ABLE TO COME?
By default, START Summit tickets are not refundable. However, if the inability to attend was caused by special reasons there is the possibility to refund tickets.
WHO CAN BUY A STARTUP TICKET?
Every employee, intern, or founder is eligible to buy a startup ticket.
HOW CAN I APPLY FOR THE SUMMITEER PITCHING COMPETITION?
To apply for our pitching competition, START Summiteer, startups need to buy min. 1 startup ticket. Summiteer is the perfect format for early-staged startups which are at the brink of blowing up and need to get exposure to Europe’s best Investors, Talent, and Corporations. Startups will pitch their company in 2 preliminary rounds before the big final will take place on the main stage. The winner will win 10000 CHF, a 6-month angel engagement, and a Breitling watch to time the market (😉), so don't miss this opportunity! Applications are still open until 10.03.2022. HOW CAN I APPLY FOR A START FAIR BOOTH?
To apply for our Startup Booths, startups need to buy min. 2 startup tickets.
The Startup Booth is the perfect format for early-staged startups that already have a product and want to promote their product to customers, as well as get exposure to Europe’s best Investors and Talent.
Applications are still open until 5.03.2022, although the first Startups will be admitted on 19.02.2022 so be quick to maximize your chances of getting a Booth! For more detailed information, please the "Participate as a Startup" page.
CAN I BOOK 1-ON-1 MEETINGS WITH INVESTORS OR OTHER STARTUPS PRIOR TO THE EVENT?
Matchmaking - Our Matchmaking tool will enable, both offline and online, participants to discover the most interesting fellow attendees and schedule meetings with them in advance of the Summit. You will be able to filter participants by industry, funding stage, or origin.
